Breast lift :

Women look forward to getting a breast lift for different reasons, although generally, they all boil down to aesthetics. Some women feel that their breasts are underdeveloped and so want a fuller set, while others may feel that only a breast lift can reverse the effects of aging, pregnancy, breastfeeding, and even weight loss. Regardless of the reason though, the additional lift is always a sure fire way of boosting confidence.

What to expect

The procedure for the breast lift may be performed in a free-standing ambulatory facility, office-based surgical suite, or a hospital and takes about an hour or two to finish. You will be given medications to make you more comfortable during the procedure.

Local anesthesia is usually used along with intravenous sedation although there are some instances wherein general anesthesia is administered. Once the procedure is over, you will be moved to a recovery area where you will be closely monitored, with your breasts supported by a surgical bra or wrapped in gauze dressings. After a few hours, you may be allowed to go home, unless your doctor feels that it's better for you to stay overnight. Regardless, you won't need more than a day in the hospital after the procedure.

To guide you accordingly, your doctor will also provide you with post-operative care instructions for your recovery. Don't forget to take note of when your follow-up session is going to be because there are additional procedures that the doctor will have to do to ensure you recover properly. If you have any questions or concerns while you're recovering, don't hesitate to ask your doctor.
